On January 15th, 2026, Sonora Collective presented Concert & Canvas, its first-ever paint-and-sip concert, at Brooklyn Paints. This unique evening brought together chamber music, visual art, and community in an interactive experience that invited audiences to become artists themselves. Featuring an eclectic combination of flute, clarinet, strings, and accordion, the musical program included the premiere of Ben Rosenblum’s Joropo. Throughout the performance, guests painted while listening to live music, guided by artist Yoko Sano, who encouraged participants to either follow along with her demonstrations or draw inspiration from the music to create their own works of art. Many thanks to Brooklyn Paints and Yoko Sano for helping bring this memorable evening of music and creativity to life.
