Kathryn Felt is a pianist, writer, and educator whose work bridges expressive performance with scholarship. She has performed widely across North America and has collaborated with ensembles including the New World Symphony, the Orpheus Choir of Toronto, and the Delaware Symphony Orchestra.

Based in New York, Kathryn is a Lecturer in Music History at Rutgers University. Her interdisciplinary work explores ecomusicology, Symbolist aesthetics, and underrepresented voices in classical music. Her forthcoming article on Mel Bonis’s Femmes de Légende will appear in the International Alliance for Women in Music Journal, and she is scheduled to present at the 2025 American Musicology Society annual meeting and the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy.
She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Rutgers University, a Master’s in Collaborative Piano from The Juilliard School, and a Bachelor’s from Rice University. In addition to her formal studies, she has performed in masterclasses for major artists including Leon Fleisher, Richard Goode, Jeremy Denk, and Malcolm Bilson. She is the founding editor of Fioritura Piano, a digital publication dedicated to piano repertoire by women composers, which features reviews, historical essays, and curated listening.

Beyond music, she enjoys running Wild Muse Flowers, a small seasonal floral design studio focused on sustainable practices and the cultivation of specialty cut flowers.
