On March 18th, 2025, Sonora Collective returned from a winter pause with a spring concert presented at Hashimoto Contemporary in the Lower East Side. Set against Angela Fang Zirbes’ haunting and atmospheric exhibition, House Ghosts, the evening offered an immersive blend of chamber music and contemporary visual art. The program featured works by Beethoven, Gabriela Lena Frank, Lisa Neher, César Vivanco Sánchez, and Elliott Carter—performed by Sonora Collective musicians Katie Althen-Velázquez (flute), Julia Danitz (violin), Rosemary Nelis (viola), and Clare Monfredo (cello). Guests arrived early to enjoy refreshments and explore the artwork before settling in for a vibrant hour of live music. Many thanks to Hashimoto Contemporary for supporting this evocative evening of music and art. You can listen to highlights from the concert here.
